History Of Piramal In 1977, at the age of 22, Piramal started out in his own family textile business. It was founded in 1934 by his grandfather Piramal Chatrabhuj . His father, Gopikisan Piramal , died in 1979, and after 5 years he also lost her elder brother to cancer. So, his family prompting him to take over the business in 1984, Ajay Piramal was 29 years old, his father passed away, but he leaving him in charge of a flailing textile business. It is one of the longest trade union strikes. This groups entered into Glass packing in 1984 with the acquisition of Gujarat Glass, following by Ceylon glass in 1999.
