History

         It was started in 17th July 1788 by Thomas Parry. It have the history of 225 years in business. In early stages they started banking and hardware components. In 1842 they start the sugar manufacture industry in India. Now it is the leading manufacture of sugar. The headquarters located in Chennai. Muthiah Murugappan is the present CEO of the company.  It is comes under the company named Murugappa Groups.

It have 6 sugar manufacturing plants and 1standalone distillery. It have 3 international certificate to sell the sugar products across 42 countries in the world.

        The competitors are Shree Renuka sugar, Bajaj Hindustan sugar and Bal Rampur sugar.      

Products

        The company produce 3 main products. The products are Sugar, Nutraceuticals and Ethanol. 

Raw material

        The raw material of the company is Sugarcane. This sugarcane are come from the local farmers of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Assam.  

Uses of Sugar 

        It is use for sweetening the food products and also use for Preservatives, Texture modifier, Fermentation substrate, Flavoring, Coloring and Bulking agents.

Uses of Nutraceuticals

        It is used for paramedical products to cure Chronic illness, reduce aging process, Increase life expectancy, mental illness and it also helps to supporting the structure and functioning of the Body.    

Uses of Ethanol

        It is used as a solvent, in the synthesis of organic chemicals. It is used as a ingredient in alcoholic beverage( Beer , wine and distilled sprits). It is used as a topical agents, to prevent skin infection. It is also used to produce lotion, tonics, colognes, cosmetic products perfumes and sanitizer.. It is also used as a automobile fuel.

Future growth

        The company enrolled in major segment and the growth of this sectors is constant . The OPM value is 10%. It also pay regular dividend of 20%. The revenue of the company is double the times in last 3 years.
